Does Following God Bring Success?

The million-dollar question has been asked by every generation, time and time again. King David in Psalm provides a principle to follow, and success is guaranteed by obeying these principles.

Also, the success could be interpreted in many ways. The definition of true and biblical success is not limited to purely financial consideration. The Jewish people valued other factors as well: A positive attitude, reptation ad community respect.

For the righteous, success is measured not in the accumulation of wealth in the personal experience of God’s blessing on their words and deeds.

The Bible says in Prov. 3:1-4:

“My son, do not forget my teaching, but keep my commands in your heart, 2 for they will prolong your life many years and bring you peace and prosperity. 3 Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. 4 Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man.”

We read in the book of Joshua 1:8, “Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.” My obedience to the law of God matters and so also the understanding what exactly “SUCCESS” means in our lives.

Psalms 1:3 That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit n season and whose leaf does not wither - whatever they do prospers.
