What it means to be BLESSED?

Blessed means to be full of joy, happy.

Happiness depends on the happenings of the day. Based on the events in a day, either it can bring joy or sorrow, happiness, anger, bitterness, high or low emotions.

For example if you go to a wedding, there is energy and joy; when you hear the news of a new born, then you feel happy. When we go to a death house, we feel sad, heaviness of heart.

However, joy is consistent no matter what is happening around us. You are not moved by the circumstances because that kind of joy is guaranteed by an unshakable source, which is Lord Jesus Christ. The One who created us says, "the Joy of the Lord is our strength."

The blessing of the Lord brings wealth, without painful toil for it. (Prov 10:22)

To be blessed, however, is much more than a feeling. It is a joyous position resulting from a right relationship with God.

David says in Psalm 32:1-2 - Blessed is the one whose transgressions are forgiven, sins are covered, whose sin the Lord does not count against and whose spirit there is no deceit. Sin, transgressions, iniquities are relating to spirit, soul and body of a person. So, when my spirit, soul and body are in the right alignment with God, that is when I feel and claim I am BLESSSED. The source of joy and fulfilment in life is only from God. May the Lord bless you with His joy, happiness, righteousness and peace. Psalm 1:1-2 Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night.
